Things I Learned This Weekend

Things I learned this weekend:  brunch is, hands down, the best meal of the day (especially when it includes mimosas and/or peach sangria); the first sunburn of the summer, no matter how awkward or painful, is a good look; discovered Spotify and certain that my life will never be the same; and sometimes you need to clear your schedule to take a little you time and that's perfectly okay.  Here's a little bit of pretty to get this week started right.  Happy Monday!

Right Side of the Bed

The perfect bedside table consists of a pretty lamp, stacked books, fresh blooms, and a framed photograph or two.  A nightstand should be uncluttered, personalized, and, most importantly, pretty as it's the first thing you see when you wake up.  The inside drawer is just as important - all your bedtime necessities within arm's reach.  I loved this post on how to streamline your nightstand's contents.  I'm in the process of styling my own bedside space and recently added this Voluspa candle which smells heavenly and I'm thinking this mirror would hang nicely above my nightstand.  I cannot wait for everything to come together and top it off with a colorful bouquet!

Party For Your Lips

There is just something about a girl with brightly colored lips – so feminine and vivacious.  Do these girls not look like they are the life of the party?  I had been a little hesitant to try something so loud on myself, until this weekend, that is. This weekend, I decided to join the party.  I now own pink lipstick and I am feeling sassy.

I had such an amazing time keeping it weird in Austin for Easter.  There's nothing better than family and a low-key weekend in an amazing city!  We spent Saturday walking around South Congress, shopping, stopping to eat, soaking in the unique Austin atmosphere, and a little live music in between.  Here are a few Instagram shots.  And since Austin is the Live Music Capital of the world, I thought I'd share my semi-hipster playlist from my drive:

Be Present

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am all about quotes.  I have them scattered throughout my apartment on walls and shelves, I pin them like crazy, gift books of quotes with quotable cards ... you get the picture.  I absolutely adore this print from the new Jess LC collection- a simple, yet very important, every day reminder.  Be present.  Trust that where you are in this moment is exactly where you are meant to be.*

My prayers have been answered!  A few months ago, I bought Kendra Scott's infamous Danielle earrings and then almost cried when I had to return them.  They were just too heavy and I had to take them off early in the evening.  Kendra Scott recently introduced the Elle and I have. to. have. them.  Even better:  I'm going to be in Austin this weekend and will most definitely be stopping by their flagship store.  Do you have any Kendra Scott pieces?  What colors do you find fabulous?

Monday Funday

I am totally into Biebs' new song "Boyfriend" ... read: I'm totally into Biebs, period.  Here's a hilarious video of a groom's performance of "Baby" at the wedding reception.  I don't know what it is, but I get such a kick out of surprise wedding performances.  Happy Monday!
